what causes dry itchy patches on my back

Hi Nean have you recently changed washing powders or anything else that would come in contact with your back such as shower cream, shampoo, or similar? I have found I get odd patches on my back around bra straps from time to time and I wonder about residue from washing powder. I use the active rinse programme on all washes to try to minimise residues but suspect some slip through. I have also wondered about getting all shower cream washed away.

Lovesradio, you have reminded me, I discovered that I am allergic to nickel, which is in a lot of bras. I have found that Marks and Spencer's bras don't have nickel in them and that improved the itching on my back and midriff.

Nean, apart from the nickel, I agree with lovesradio, you could be allergic to something in your washing powder/liquid etc..

You could try using soda crystals to wash your clothes and see whether that helps at all.

I am allergic to some of the ingredients in some washing powders/liquids, so use Bold liquid but keeping an eye on the ingredients.
