I am 55 and living with Multiple Sclerosis (for30years) bipolar disorder and ocd. I have a wonderful husband of 25yeaes who has has been right by my side through the good and the bad. I have a strong and supportive family.

Here is my question!! How do you keep your mouth shut when your head is exploding with horrible and ridiculous thoughts and they are flying out of your mouth like flames and daggers. I’m talking about stuff that happened 28 years ago and has nothing to do with anything! He is a wonderful husband. How many times can I apologize? No coping strategies are working!

I am sorry I don’t really have an answer but appreciate you sharing your challenge. I know my OCD makes it hard for me to know when something is settled and over. I want to keep checking to reassure myself that I am forgiven. But I have to recognize it is a compulsion and my OCD and not give in to it. Best wishes to the two of you!

Hello, I stumbled across your post and just wanted to encourage you that you have a friend in Jesus and you can ask him for help to overcome this issue you’re having. His Holy Spirit will produce new thoughts and outlooks to overcome the negativity. God is a God of hope and wants us to experience his great restorative power over our lives. Jesus is the backdrop to all of our lives and has sealed our redemption by his mighty sacrifice of his love for us. Daily prayer is very beneficial. My dad also has MS. He’s 65 and was diagnosed in 1999 at age 43. He’s fought depression and many mental struggles, but he always says that God has given him other gifts because of this illness that he would never had experienced without it. He almost died back about 5 years ago actually from pneumonia and gave his life to Jesus asking for more time. He recovered and now believes and we get to have more time together. We are still learning everyday and go through many ups and downs. But when you have Jesus as your anchor, you will not only have an everlasting hope, but his Holy Spirit will equip you to enjoy life, overcome adversity, and renew your mind.

God bless you on your journey ahead.
