Hi has any one ever had st johns wort for harm ocd ?

I know that it shouldn’t be used with SSRIs if you’re taking them for two reasons:

(1) it can mute the effectiveness of your prescribed antidepressant

(2) it can potentially lead to an unhealthy level of serotonin

Hi HELLNOCD I do not take meds so wanted to try st johns wort for my ocd as the thoughts are very bad at the mo

Well, speaking from experience, there is no magic bullet or pull that will reduce bad thinking without ERP and facing your fears. I had severe harm and suicidal OCD (among other themes), and medication helped me to cope they did nothing to diminish the thoughts... the only thing that effectively helped with the thoughts was diving into ERP. I tried supplement and all sorts of remedies, but I never saw results until I found the right medication and went full throttle into ERP.

Hi: Similar to what HELLNOCD said, I had a friend take it with a serious reaction. So be careful taking St.Johns wort with any medication.
