interesting. Had you seen it being used for MSA??? I only see news reports of use with Alzheimer’s. Although I have seen studies saying how the tangles/ plaquing are similar.

No haven't seen it being used for MSA but seen studies too about similarities. Also wondering about Verdiperstat as submitted to FDA by Brohaven as treatment for MSA?

Always on the lookout for some progress in the treatment of MSA.

Verdiperstat sadly didn’t pass phase 3 trials. There are others being trialled now eg ATH434 which are interesting though.

We chased verdiperstat right up to the point my husband was supposed to enter the trial in two days and the results of ineffectiveness came out the day before we were supposed to leave for that. My husband has been turned down for another study and keeps getting lost in the traffic for the alterity study. I think it is so hard to qualify for these studies because they are looking for people early on in their disease process and so many are not diagnosed until they have significant deficits. It seems like being an independent ambulator is one of the main criteria. Best wishes.

It is unlikely to be effective in MSA because the aberrant protein in Alzheimer's is ameloid while in MSA it is alpha-synuclein. Also the deposits in MSA are actually within the glial cells in various parts of the brain - not the neurons but the support cells. But work is being done to find compounds that remove alpha-synuclein in a similar way.
