I think we are at the end...

My dad is nearing the end of this journey. Not even 2 years after diagnosis! He's currently on end of life care in the nursing home, not eating or drinking, his extremities are all mottled and his skin is turning purple. The nurse says that he has abnormal Sat's and the doctor is coming out today to prescribe the drugs for the driver😔 this isn't easy to watch.

This must be very challenging for you all. My thoughts are with you and I am so sorry for you and your family. If you are able to, and feel strong enough, do remember that evidence seems to show that hearing remains even when other functions are failing. Your father will likely still be able to hear you talking to him and it is possible still to be able to provide comfort and solace to him. Maybe tell him about a moment you laughed together, or something he taught you, or a discussion you once had. Sending you strength and fortitude for the days ahead. Take care. Gaynor

My thoughts are with you. Even though my dad passed in 2017, I can still remember the last day, the last hours. Like others have said, talk to him. I am convinced my dad heard me as he mananaged a smile when I thanked him for being the best dad ever, and I'll carry that memory with me forever. Lots of love to you and your family xxxx
