I'm not sure this is much help, but I have ET and walked up Snowdon - just! I was really quite ill and had to be helped at the top and came down by train. Apparently my lips went very blue and i felt very dizzy and sick, it took me a good 24 hours to feel right again.

I checked this out with my consultant when i got back and he said he doubted it was the cause, but it was possible! I couldn't get a reason from him!

Hi Mike, it is difficult to give a general answer to this, this risk would be of increased Hb due to the altitude as well as altitude sickness itself. We would suggest an individual discussion with your doctor and also your insurer. Regards, Maz.
