Hi. Ive managed to mess up injection with Besremi and have had to use the second needle. Does anyone know if the pharmacy will be able to give me another needle or do I just need a new syringe?

Besremi question

I will be of no help, but solidarity sister! I took my first dose of Besremi last night (formally on Peg). The needle cover malfunctioned (it didn’t depress at all!). And I wasted a whole dose!
I’d give the pharmacy a call. See if they have extra needles.
Big solidarity from me too!
I don't live in the UK anymore, so my experience is probably not relevant. In my case, having messed up a couple of times (yes that needle is really annoying!!), it was not the pharmacy that helped but the MPN hospital dept that had spare needles. I would however ask the pharmacy first.
The fact is, once you go for the injection you must commit totally and not pull back , not even minimally! the moment you do, that blimmin' needle cover closes and the needle is blocked.
This is what I learnt last night - its one shot, no going back! Id actually prefer a proper syringe like Peg!
I realised that I had not actually injected anything for the first month just put besremi over my skin. And yes Peg is much easier to inject. The besremi is definitely over engineered...
The advantage of the Besremi pen is that you can use it more than once without sterility issues. I too preferred the normal peg syringe but I threw away a lot of product.
I simply asked for and was given half a dozen spare needles from the haematology dept
Solidarity here as well - did the same thing for my first injection with the pen - luckily the pharmacy must have seen this before because they gave me extra "pen needles" (basically for use with any pen medicine delivery) and they worked well...
All these troubles with the Besremi pen suggest the US FDA's rejection of it, (the pen not the drug) had a reason. They seemed to agree with Scarlett500 above that it's "over engineered." So US ended up with a simple, but wasteful syringe. I think they are working on a better design for everywhere.
