1st Besremi shot under my belt- literally! 😀 You all know I was a nervous wreck. Not about a needle- about the medicine. I thought I was going to have a panic attack but it’s done. The process was fine just had to deal with my crazy self.
Now I’m calm but feel like I’m sitting on a bomb waiting to see what side effects I’ll have. You all are such a help to me, hopefully Ill get to a place where I can help others too.
Lol- if any new people are reading this and are freaking out about ANYTHING…. You are not alone. 🤪

GOOD NEWS! Settle in for long boring wait for something to happen. In this case, boring is good. That is actually one of my primary treatment goals. I really want to be "The World's Most Boring Patient."
It’s been 12 hours now. I have mild nausea and have had several bathroom trips. So far all is tolerable and I’m grateful for that. Please tell me that this will calm down and I will adjust. As much as I’d love to be skinny - I’m thirsty and hungry! I can’t even take a sip of water without stirring things up. I’m actually taking this as a promising sign because I’ve never had an upset tummy AND been hungry at the same time. I saw my 3 year old granddaughter yesterday. There were plenty of hugs and kisses. Today she was diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease. 🤦♀️ Put me on your prayer list please.
I expect that the nausea and diarrhea will calm down. I would use some OTC meds to control the symptoms and just feel more comfortable. You know your own body best regarding what works for you. The things that work for me are:
For nausea: Nauzene (OTC chewable tabs), Cola Syrup (old school remedy), Emetrol (a similar syrup TOC), and Ginger Tea (I like Ginger Aid tea by Traditional Medicinals - find it at grocery store).
For diarrhea - loperamide (aka Imodium) or Pepto Bismol (which is also anti-nausea).
It is important to stay hydrated. It will make you feel better. I unusually find room temperature water is easier to drink on an unsettled stomach. I also tolerate du-bubbled ginger ale or the aforementioned ginger tea.
Sorry to hear about the hand foot mouth decease exposure. You certainly did not need that on top of starting up on the Besremi. It is usually a mild infection that will pass on its own but is an inconvenience for sure. I hope you dodge that bullet. Prayers headed your way. 🙏
One top lesson I've learned from the Voice is the hydration, lots of water. It can help me not just GI issues, but overall feeling. It does mean more restroom breaks though.
