Teeth whitening

Hi everyoneI had a question from a buddy

She is female, has PV, aged 68.

Feels well

On hydroxicarbamide.

Would like to have her teeth whitened but wonders if it's ok for pv patients taking this drug.

I haven't a clue - does anyone else know please?

Hi Louise, I had my teeth whitened a couple of years ago at the dentists. I have ET, but I am on hydroxycarbamide. I am 69 years old!

hi Louise, she really needs to check this with her haematology nurse specialist or her haematologist, she will need to tell them what is involved with the process of whitening the teeth, what is used to do it etc, so they can check that it will be ok for her. Best wishes, Maz

Hubby been on Hydroxyurea for PV since Sept 23,we both use teeth whitening twice a yr,BUT, we use the gel that goes into a teeth shield & leave in overnight, both from our dentist (wouldn't get anything like this online)
