Hi

I found I suffered those side effects effects from Pegasus rather than the aspirin.

How long have you been on Pegasus?

Hi VTAR24. I take 2 low dose (81 mg) a day (morning & night). My Platelets are at 750. I have PV and do not take any other meds for it (do phlebotomies). I also used to get terrible headaches. They seem to come and go. Currently I am not bothered by them but I do get pain in my legs (back of thighs, ankle area, and sometimes knees). It makes it very difficult/painful to walk very much. I have had the EMG test and my blood flow is fine so not sure what causes it. My dr. doesn't really have the patience to hear anything about my symptoms so I've stopped mentioning them. I will ask my GP at my next visit. Just curious, did you only start noticing the pains once you doubled up on your aspirin?

Yes especially in my knees I'm just wondering is it the increase in aisprin I will have to ask my hematologist on next appointment

Taking a low dose aspirin twice/day is a fairly common practice in treating MPNs that do not respond well enough to once/day. Some docs do this routinely. It can make a difference with microvascular symptoms like headaches.

The issue with joint pain can have different causes. Many of us have co-occurring osteoarthritis, myself included. Aching joints can also be a medication adverse effect. Arthralgia is a known adverse effect associated with Pegasys. Pain is a warning that something is wrong. It would be prudent to assess what is causing the increase in joint pain and intervene as needed.

All the best.

Hello

My platelets are at 900plus, I am still on 75mg of asprin. I have pain in my ankles and knees most days and headaches. My Haemotologist does not seem to be interested in anything but my platelet count and for anything else I see the GP including being on a low dose blood pressure medication for constant headaches. So whilst I cannot help you with your dosage , I can confirm I have the same symptoms.

I wish you well
