Hello everyone, I have a history of MPN for many years, I have noticed that my liver protein, total protein, albumin, and prealbumin levels are all frighteningly low in routine medical examinations. I even suspect that my C-reactive protein levels are low even when I am in an inflammatory state.
Low protein can lead to severe edema, which is quite painful for me. I have tried my best to supplement protein foods, but there is still no objective improvement. As soon as inflammation occurs, protein is consumed again. Due to long-term consumption of inhibitors, the immune system is weak and it is easy to get sick or develop inflammation.
What should I do? Do you have any good suggestions?

Sorry to hear about the concern. I am afraid that most of us will know little about hypoalbuminemia and how it interfaces with MPNs. The body is a complex integrated system. Sometimes things are directly related, indirectly related and not related all all. It can be very hard to sort out with MPNs and trying to cycle through multiple specialists, each looking primarily at their own specialty part of the body. If you are not finding answers with your current care team, I would suggest consulting with an Integrative or Functional Medicine doctor. These docs look at the body as a whole system and will often think in a different way about how the body functions. They are aware of ways to intervene that other specialists may not be aware of.
