Any connection ?

I'm wondering if there is a connection between platelets and underactive thyroid / hashimoto. Don't mean thyroid is causing platelets to be high ,but if levothyroxine needs increasing that may help lower platelets.

I have appointment next week and will discuss

Meanwhile thoughts welcome

I don’t know tho I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2010.

Be interesting if there was a link.

I haven’t needed medication yet tho they said I will soon.

I would be very interested to know if there’s a connection. I was on Levothyroxine when supposedly started my ET.

I hope your medical consultation goes well as in my experience good medical support may be required to manage the additional challenge of fatigue when taking Levothyroxine, a thyroid hormone supplement, combined with Hydroxy daily for ET. I had managed fatigue associated with ET relatively well but experienced deep fatigue when taking Levothyroxine for the first time last year. The dose may require careful adjustment over time, with the support of your medical practitioners, to establish the appropriate level.

Thank you for your thoughts

I’m lucky not to be overly fatigued. Glad you have managed to find correct dose of meds

I too have been on thyroid meds for 6 years and diagnosed with ET in 2021. Not sure if linked but meds have not decreased platelets.
