Devon to Dorset

I live in Devon at the moment and have a lovely caring Haematologist, but if things go as planned we'll be moving to Dorset shortly. How do I find/register with a new Haematologist - do I have to go through my new GP (which could take sometime) or maybe ask my present Haematologist to refer me? Any advice please. If anyone could recommend a Haematologist or MPN specialist in the Poole/Bournemouth area that would be so helpful.

BTW I'm ET jak2+ on Pegasus.

Thanks for reading.

As your Heam is prescribing Peg, I imagine they will be able to refer you to a new hospital.

Hi Izzys-Mum, it will be your new GP who will refer you, so you will need to register with a GP as soon as you can once you have moved and explain that you need to be referred to a haematologist because of your MPN and medication. You could ask your current haematologist if they can recommend anyone to you in Dorset. I hope the move goes well for you. Best wishes Maz (also in Devon)

Thanks - I'll register with GP as soon as I get there and ask my haematologist if she has any recommendations, she's always been so helpful. We love Devon but need to be nearer family now.

hi Izzy’s-Mum . Steve’s Mum here. I am doing exactly the same thing I live in Devon and am moving to Sherborne to be near my family too. I will still stay with RD&E, as I have attended there for several years and am happy with them. Especially as we are now on telephone consultations.

I wish you all the best with your move. I hope you find a lovely home in Dorset. Best wishes Sandy x

I live in Dorset. Depending on where you are, it may be Dorchester Hospital or Poole. If it's Dorchester, I am with Dr Anna Morris, who is very willing to refer for telephone appointments with Guy's.
