I am on hydroxy 500mg daily and 75mg asprin. My left eye has become bloodshot again. On the
previous occasion, some 5 weeks ago, my left eye had a serious bleed, which took weeks to clear. I think I will stop asprin forwith. I attempted to contact my haematology nurse, left a message and no call back. Feeling in the dark regarding help from onco unit.
A delayed response to an emergent issue like a hemorrhage in the eye is not acceptable. I would suggest going to an urgent care center at a minimum. Might also prompt a faster response from the hematology unit.
I am wondering if you have had a von Willebrand Panel done along with an updated prothrombin time test (ptt/aptt - INR). There are situations in which aspirin is clearly contraindicated. Thank you, Hunter. I phoned again this morning and was confirmed in decision to stop asprin. When I attended optician last time, was told that eye pressure was ok and that blood would clear eventually, so I hope for the same this time. Thank you.
