My SIL has Ulcerative Colitis and is on an organ rejecting drug for that and she also has ET without the JAK2.

I've had digestive tract issues my whole life that I write off as a "sensitive" stomach. I always dealt with it by being very careful about what I eat. However, after starting on HU 18 months ago, it's gotten worse and I am more careful than ever. For me, I will take a half pepto bismol tablet prior to taking the medication. This usually helps. Good luck finding something that works for you.

Yes. I have been having problems since the dose of Hydroxy was increased to 1000mg four days a week. I mentioned it to the specialist nurse but i don't think she believed me!

17 years on HU - always constipated. Off it now and on interferon, it is the opposite - not quite to the point of being a problem but sometimes going 3 times in a day.

Hi Cabert - I have the same diagnosis & treatment as you & definitely noticed a change in bowel habits.I have not discussed this with anyone-managing it myself, but it's not ideal.I don't think I am digesting food properly & have modified my diet...

How have you modified your diet Annula? And has it made any difference? May I ask what medication you’re using for your diagnosis. Thanks

Cabert, berberine is a JAK2 and a UHRF1 inhibitor. Berberine is poorly absorbed however the active form dihydroberberine is available in supplement form. Ulcerative Colitis is a condition showing favorable response to it as well as multiple myeloma. It also suppress platelet activation through inhibiting the class I PI3Kβ/Rasa3/Rap1 pathway, which is related to the antithrombotic effect of berberine. I use it to reduce TMAO in the blood caused by gut bacteria using animal protein to create TMA that is turned into TMAO by the liver. I have chronic kidney disease and although follow a vegetarian diet I have a meat on occasion, TMAO is a risk factor. Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.
