Hi everyone,Reading other members'posts i noticed LDH being mentioned but I can't work out what's the implication of high/low level LDH. I checked my results and mine are high 365.
Along with high platelets and other bloods low.
Is this something I should discuss with my haematologist?

Mine have been over 1000 too for a bit. A previous consultant remarked on them being high a couple of years ago - I hadn't noticed them on the blood results at that point - but when I asked what it meant he said they didn't know. It's not remarked on at the notes at the bottom of the lab results like my high ferritin is. I actually had it on my list to ask at an appt last week but there were other complications and with those worries I forgot. Will add to the list next time.
I believe it is quite a generic measure of tissue damage and I am not sure how it specifically relates to having an MPN. My LDH has always been above normal range since my diagnosis, not quite as high as yours (max was 301) but always consistently higher. It would be worth asking at the next appointment. I am seeing a consultant in ten days and I will ask.
Thank you all for your answers re LDH levels. I found the answer from a post sent by Hunter 3 months ago by using the search function. It gives a full and understandable explanation.I have checked all my blood test results and see LDH levels have always been high so I'll ask at my next appointment what it means for me, and let you know what he says.
