yes. I took h.u in the past and switched to peg. Due to liver problems I reduced my peg and add h.u. It helps for liver and spleen

I am currently transitioning from HU to Pegasys and taking both together. The process started in Sep and we adjusted dosage gradually. HU went from daily to five a week plus have increased the Peg from 45 to 90mcg biweekly. I hope to drop further the HU after my next appointment with specialist in three weeks.

Hi Pippa,

I transitioned from HU to Besremi, and noticed similar effects- it seems like all of my levels [RBC/WBC/PLTLT & Hct] get better immediately after each dosage increase, but when I stay at the dose that dropped them, they go back up again, so my dose titration has been on-going.

I have been increasing by 50 mcg every 4-6 weeks and my blood results have been all over the place, as I said. I'm currently on 250 mcg every 2 weeks [1st dose at this amount started on 2/4/23- because Onco360 messed up the shipping so it arrived 4 days later than planned], and I'll be going on Thursday [2/9/23] to get blood drawn to see where that put me.

We had planned to transition more slowly from Hu to Besremi, but the side-effects from HU were getting intolerable even at the lowest dose I was on, so I stopped it abruptly after the 2nd dose of Besremi.

Best,

PA

I have PV, now almost 4 yrs. I also had an uptick in my counts (Hct) and a couple of venesections since Sep, that is why the Peg was increased. Good luck with your results next week!

Not sure if I am still with ET or not, need to ask questions I think Bless you its all scarey isnt it, but this a great supportive site uplifting :) Stay Well Be Happy hope you have a fab day Best Wishes

In replying to your new post I saw this one. Your title has "IFN 2b." This is used by Besremi and the much older "Intron": IFN alpha 2b.

PEG uses IFN alpha 2a. You are on PEG is that right?
