I tested positive on 17 December 2022 and still showing positive after further test on 23 December. Has anyone with PV fell to CoVid and how long did it take to clear?

Hi

Greetings from Sunny Fife

Sorry you are not feeling well. I hope it passes quickly.

I had covid this time last year, it was pre PV confirmed diagnosis but now know I had PV then.

Felt quite awful for a couple of weeks, my breathing was longest symptom hanging about, 2 months or so.

I think everyone is different though in how they present with symptoms and recovery. I think if you feel very unwell to speak with NHS 24 for advice explaining your PV and covid symptoms.

Have you spoke with doctor about access to meds for covid which you will likely be entitled too.

I hope you feel better soon and manage to have a lovely Christmas.

I had COVID with PV back in January. Primary symptoms took about 14 days to clear. Hope you are back to feeling better soon.

I had Covid at the very start, early March 2020 when there was no immunity for anyone. I had symptoms for most of the year, but it was mixed with my untreated PV/ET. My husband almost died from it, he has no MPN but still has long Covid. I think our Covid experience is influenced more by our over all health and age than by our MPN. But if the MPN bloods are not controlled that could add risk as it did for me.

If one is on Rux, that also could add risk, since it reduces immunity by design.

I had COVID last summer. I never got real sick but tested positive for two weeks following. I stopped testing following that but had a slight sore throat linger on for at least a month.

I got Covid back in August 21. Luckily I was sick for a few days. I just took the normal OTC sinus stuff. Pretty sure I had it this year too but again was like a mild cold for me. More annoying. Hopefully yours will be mild like mine. Hope you feel better soon. Happy holidays
