Besremi

Hello all, I have started Besremi and on my 4th does which was raised to 150. I am feeling better and no side affects. However my Lipase has been climbing yesterday 98ul I am concerned but my Hemo has not mentioned this as a problem yet. I would hate to stop the medication. Any info would be most appreciated.

I had my 5th shot yesterday increased to 150 from 100. I did feel pretty icky last night so I took a Tylenol & went to bed. Im looking at my last labs & not sure if lipase was checked. Is it LY?

Hi there, Yes the blood test is the measure of Lipase.

Lipase is not in my tests, and is not part of standard CMPs etc to my knowledge.

It seems relevant to the pancreas. Has your Dr discussed pancreas concerns?

It is however in the Besremi list,with symptoms, and maybe we should all be getting this test:

"5.6 Pancreatitis

Pancreatitis has occurred in patients receiving interferon alfa products, including BESREMi. Pancreatitis was reported in 2.2% of patients receiving BESREMi. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, bloating, and fever. Patients may experience elevated lipase, amylase, white blood cell count, or altered renal/hepatic function. Interrupt BESREMi treatment in patients with possible pancreatitis and evaluate promptly.

Consider discontinuation of BESREMi in patients with confirmed pancreatitis"

Hi There, My lipase is still in a very normal range so far. I will discuss with my Hemo in 2 weeks. I have no symptoms of pancreatitis. Yes I think testing for lipase is important.
