what a surprise!

I had a blood test last week.

Rang up today for results and was told platelets. Up to 645 .

So I rang Heamo nurse to discuss wether I need an earlier appointment to get change of prescription. I decided it would be sensible to take an extra Hydroxicarbamide -4 - a week as recommended a couple of months ago.

she checked bloods and said platelets 544, so I must have misheard…

Anyone who has seen my posts over the last 2years will know how reluctant I’ve been to take anything.

I’m pleased. To say I accepted taking more meds.without getting upset… BUT delighted won’t need to..

On the whole all good news. Also a good reason to get your own copy of your labs so you can see them for yourself. Hard to say whether the provider misspoke or you misheard. Better safe than sorry when it comes to accuracy in lab results.

All the best.

yes you are right . It mught not have been me mishearing essential to get print out..

I know that results need to have a consistent downwards turn . As platelets can flucuate by the hour ....

Best wishes to you to

I had Covid recently & bloods had risen but consultant told me Covid would have effected them . So not sure if the booster has similar effect. My blood tests being done again after 6 weeks 👍
