hi Staroftheday, great news that you are going on holiday in Sep, don't forget to get travel insurance and declare your ET with the insurance company, if you already have travel insurance as part of any current policies, or as part of your bank account, you must update the companies about your ET, we do have a list of companies that have been used by people with MPNs and have been able to get insurance for their travel, listed on our travel and insurance guide mpnvoice.org.uk/wp-content/...

With regards to your question about massage and a Turkish bath, this information will help you, mpnvoice.org.uk/living-with...

we do advise that you ask your haematology team about having any complementary therapies, you could contact the haematology nurse specialist for advice, hopefully you were given contact details for the specialist nurses in your haematology department, if you weren't, call the department and ask for details.

Best wishes, Maz

Glad to hear you can go on holiday. We all need a break for fun and relaxation.

You should, of course, discuss any complimentary interventions with your care team. i do use massage therapy on a regular basis. It is a critical part of my care plan as I have chronic back pain. My care team has no issue with it vis a vis the PV.

Hope you have a good time.

I have ET and also use massage therapy. My brother has had multiple cancers, skin and a muscle sarcoma and also regularly uses massage therapy.

Hi, my husband always had a Turkish bath and a massage he's post PV MF this is the first I've heard about having a massage when having an MPN.

All I can say is my husband has never ever had any issues .

We have used insurance with and stay sure .

We now have travel insurance with my husband's company that he works for which is a good cover and it does cover all pre existing medical illnesses .
