just got a call to say that my husband's JAK2 results are back. They wanted to discuss it with him over the phone but I pointed out he has major brain injuries as a result of brain haemorrhage and strokes and he won't cope on the phone. We have an appointment for Friday 5th August late morning. Referral to Haematologist being done today. So hopefully he can start treatment for Polycythemia and Thrombocythemia. We will ask for his numbers

Good for you insisting on a face to face appointment for your husband. Make sure you take a note of any questions that you both have. Glad things are now moving 😊
It sounds like your husband has Polycythemia Vera, which can include both erythrocytosis and thrombocytosis. The results of the JAK2 test will shed light on the diagnosis. Unfortunately PV can some with risk of both thrombotic and hemorrhagic events like strokes. He is fortunate to have you as an advocate. It certainly makes sense to have this appointment be face-to-face when dealing with such a significant issue. Glad to hear that you insisted on it.
Please do let us know what you learn. All the best to you both.
I recorded my consultation. Its amazing how many things that I picked up on playing it back. Just ask at the beginning and there should be no objection. Agree with Cakeface, make a note if your questions.
