Dx of PV confirmed

Hi all.

So had phone call from my haematologist today to confirm a Dx of PV. I am off to sunny climates today for holiday so he has sent a letter to my GP to start me on aspirin when I return. Won’t see me again until planned Sept consult with him. Not sure when venesections will start, hopefully not yet. Bonus, have agreement to start HRT too, thankfully lol

I still have my private appointment scheduled with Dr Mark Drummond in Oct. I just received a copy of my NHS records but basic with no BMB images and even seeing which dates bloods were taken is impossible. Good thing I have GP records which are better. I have asked Haem Secretary to send me BMB images.

Thanks for all your support guys. Hunter your info will be very helpful for my next consult. Plenty of time to get my questions ready

Adie

Glad to hear you got confirmation and access to at least some of your medical records. It should not be so hard to access your records. They are after all your property.

Glad to hear you are off for a bit of fun and relaxation. Hope you have a great trip.
