MF bone pain UTI

I've been diagnosed with post ET MF for about a year. I've had real trouble trying to make out what is bone pain because of the MF. I do get pains in my lower back on and off so thought that is what the current pain was. It was getting me down do phoned the specialist nurse who referred to the mpn doctor. After some other questions they suggested I get a urine sample to the GP. I have a UTI and after 3 days of antibiotics the pain has gone. The only antibiotics I've had in the last 35 years have been for tooth abscesses so you can see I shrug infections off very well. I'm on ruxolitinib so have learnt the hard way that I now have an impaired immune system!

UTIs are no fun! Glad you found relief.

I am also experiencing a significant drop in my WBCs due to Besremi. It has not lead to any issues so far, but I am doing what I can to boost my immune system. Aside from a healthy diet, my Integrative medicine doc recommended Astragalus and Reishi supplements. I can't prove it is doing any good, but I have only had one infection (COVID) since I started on the Interferons a year ago.
