Pfizer 3rd dose durable protection

Browsing the Euro Hematology conference 2022 site there is an interesting report on the Pfizer vax.

The 1st booster shot (3rd shot) was durable to at least 6 months, being "very high" protection. In the plot here the red dots at upper right show the protection held up well at 6 months compared to the blue dots for the 2nd shot.

A goal they had was how soon should the 4th shot be. They advocate for less frequent boosters.

They don't say which variant was analyzed, so it may not have tested for Omicron.

The study above is good by being prospective. There is an Israeli observational study using Omicron with differing conclusion, but the studies are of very different design. But it's possible the variant matters in third shot durability.

It could be the bivalent (Wuhan + Omicron specific) vaxes that should be avail this fall would get better results in the Israeli type study. I'm waiting for these to get my next booster.
