That is not to say that HU is the cause of the CKD Stage 2, but it worth reviewing with a nephrologist to see what the cause is.
I was showing as possible Stage 2. After review, the diagnosis was you are getting older, your kidneys are not as strong, drink more water. I did. It fixed the problem. you will hear from others on the forum how important good hydration is. more so when you are taking a toxic medication.
Suggest you do follow up with a nephrologist. Hopefully the answer is as simple as drink more water. Best to be certain on these things. If you do need to switch meds for cytoreduction, there are other options.
Thank you Hunter. My kidney disease is because of one kidney stopped working as it was a dwarf. The other kidney is fine but I had a blockage and had a stent put in the renal artery. My Creantin score is high always so drinking more water is probably the best suggestion. I am on Lasix so it’s hard to stay hydrated. Thanks so much for your response, it is very helpful. All the best to you.
My wife has MF and due to a blood clot lost one kidney, her est GFR is around 50, which we are told is good for only one kidney. She is on 3 tablets of hydroxycarbamide a week and 3 Anagrelide a day for the MF.
