Hi Dazakella, , it seems there are contradictions with fillers for folk with autoimmune conditions or taking anti inflammatory drugs including Aspirin. Best ask the provider and or your Haematologist. Chris
Don't get my lips done but I have a little filler either side of my chin to soften my "tramlines" either side of my mouth, still a little vanity despite being nearly 65. I get it done only once a year. I had this done prior to being diagnosed with ET in 2017 and don't intend to stop quite yet. I always had bruising prior to hydroxycarbamide and aspirin and it hasn't gotten any worse since, so for me I shall keep doing what makes me happy.
I have been going to the same practitioner since before diagnosis and so she has my original details on file. I was aware that I should have informed her but was also aware she may have refused to treat me. I felt it was my decision whether to risk a reaction or not. I did inform my haematologist when I was first diagnosed that I had this done about once a year and he advised against it but that it was my decision in the end. I can be quite headstrong and decided to continue and for me, without problems.
Hi Dazakella,
I have had lip fillers and tramlines & a little Botox before my diagnosis, probably once a year also. I asked my consultant for a letter to say I can still continue as the Dr who administers these said she could not do it without the consultants consent. When I asked him he could see no reason not to continue if it makes me feel better
May sound vain but I just like to try to keep myself looking as fresh and well as possible at 61
