I have a letter from NHS Scotland inviting me for third dose, having read all the info on here so far I am a bit confused. When I saw the nurse at GP,s the other day she said the Moderna was 1/2 dose and the Pfizer was full dose and I would be offered either, I assume that was for booster instead of 3rd dose? So my question is does anyone know if the Third dose of Moderna in Scotland is full dose and is that okay for us with MPN or should we still insist on the Pfizer, if we can. The vaccine centre here says that their system is being updated and don’t have much info.
Thanks Kye PV

I wondered that too and after reading Maz's updated advice I am going to print out the Blood Cancer UK release which she sent the link to and take it with the letter. So if any problems I have evidence to back up my request for Pfizer. Anecdotal reports are that the large vaccination centre I'm going to at the end of next week is giving Pfizer at the moment so hopefully that remains the same. Diana
Hi AinslieThe centre offering the vaccine should be able to answer the question about half dose moderna vaccine. We are being advised to only accept Pfizer as part of the third dose vaccine program for that very reason. There seems to be so much confusion at GP level about the third dose programme being separate from the booster programme. I have sent a copy of the MPNVoice letter to my GP practice as it seems that we as patients seem to be better informed than the GPs are. That is possibly because it is in our interest to obtain clarity for ourselvesThe BBC have reported today that NHS England should have notified all eligible people by the end of next week. I’m not sure if that applies to the Scottish NHS. From the MPNVoice letter it seems that ALL MPN patients are eligible for a third dose regardless of treatment status. As is so often the case with MPNs there seems to be little understanding of our diseases amongst the general medical profession and we need to proactively advocate for ourselves. I hope you find the answer to your question
