In the last 6 months I've developed sore fingers (may not be related to PV). They bruise easily when carrying anything. For the last 8 weeks I've had what looks like a haematoma within one of my small veins. This feels like a hard sore lump. My HCT is 41 (controlled with pagasys). I'm being referred to rheumatology possible vasculitis . I'll update you all once I have a diagnosis.

Pv and sore fingers
I’m sorry to hear this. I hope it’s not vasculitis.
This maybe of no help, but there is a condition called ‘Achenbachs Syndrome.’ I came across this condition, as although rare, I sometimes experienced a really painful fingertip and watch it turn purple; it felt, and very much looked like a blood vessel had burst. Sometimes it happened after knocking it, or carrying heavy shopping, mowing the lawn etc.
I haven’t experienced it for years now, and wonder if it was connected to ET - which would have been undiagnosed back then; aspirin may explain why it has ceased too!
It could be a number of things. Do you get any other unexplained bruising?
Please let us know what you learn as we can all benefit form what you learn.
I used to get excessive bleeding when on 81mg aspirin/day. I am now on 40.5mg/day and doing much better. I get symptom control without excessive bleeding/bruising. Note that as we age (age>60) our response to aspirin changes . We tend to bleed more.
Hope you get it all sorted out soon.
