Did anybody see the Lorraine show as they had a woman on who had a form of blood cancer and her antibody test showed no antibodies against Covid. She said those with blood cancers are the forgotten few at the moment. She said people who have had two vaccinations are still getting Covid and dying in hospitals. I was sick after listening to it.

Please try and stay positive . Focus on the good things in life of which there are many . Your lovely dog , the birds singing , a nice meal etc.
Stress lowers immune system as well
Take care

Yes, I’m concerned too.
This is my first week back at work, having a phased return, after taking my haematologists advice and staying off work until 3 weeks after my second jab before going back but still socially distancing - which is really hard as I work in a school.
I have been on the phone most of the morning trying to get some answers about getting an antibody test to see if I need to be ultra cautious or I can relax a bit.
I rang GP they told me they don’t do them so told me to ring COVID helpline number-119, they told me to ring GP or pay for private test.
So I rang Haematology the secretary took my details etc and said my haematologist will get back to me tomorrow. So still no further forward after many hours on hold/on phone!
Feel like we’ve gone 10 steps back after feeling like we’re free to live again.
Surely they will make it a priority to give us all antibody tests to see if we all have a level of protection or none at all.
I’m not usually a nervous or over cautious person but I’m really worried about going into work tomorrow now, when I’ve been so excited to return to my job for months.
I just want to know one way or another where we stand with it.

Hi. My answer may not help you or be what you want but in addition to MF I have CVID where my body can’t create antibodies to vaccines like normal people. My immunologist said that although I won’t produce antibodies to the vaccine, my T cells will help protect me. That has nothing to do with what limitations I have from my MF. Unfortunately for me, I’ve decided I need to continue to act as though I wasn’t vaccinated. In a recent newsletter from Patient Power, Daniel Schorr’s wife said they have to continue to act as they did a year ago. He has MF & CLL. Not the best news but thought I should share it. Katie
I was up at Guy’s this week and sought clarification about the extent to which the Covid jab offered us MPNers protection.
The response was that the early research data (after one jab) was looking positive with protection rates of 80 to 90 per cent. But in the meanwhile to play it safe and act as if were still vulnerable.
I’m stepping out into the world with caution but being selective about where I go and who I with. As with everything in life I take calculated risks.
