FDA, CDC recommend "pause" for Johnson & Johnson vaccine in US due to reports of blood clots

6 reports of clots within 2 weeks of receiving the vaccine. Appears to be very rare (6 reports out of 6.8 million doses).

To be clear, this SHOULD NOT deter people from getting this (or any) vaccine. Your odds of getting a clot from COVID are far higher than getting a clot from one of these vaccines.

Whilst waiting for my haematology consultation today, I got my invitation for second dose of AZ vaccine by text from my GP.

I asked the haematologist for her take on risk and she said that blood clots had been associated with countless Covid patients and a vanishingly small number of vaccine recipients - so draw your own conclusions.

My second shot booked for next Tuesday - yeeha!

I fully agree. Your odds of getting a clot from COVID are far higher than getting a clot from a vaccine.

I'm in the US and had my first Moderna shot on Friday. Second shot scheduled in a few weeks!
