Spent the morning listening to Smooth Radio, painting Mr Frenchie. He will eventually be sitting on a beautiful navy blue velvet blanket with a dark background. My fabulous hubby ordered me a drying rack which came yesterday so I no longer have paintings drying everywhere, especially as oils take a week to dry. Once he is finished he will be added to the Pug and Jack Russell I have done so far. Will be back with him tomorrow x

A relaxing day painting
You really are so talented Jill! Glad you are relaxing with your painting and music. Love Fran xx
Looking good! Glad you are finding ways to express your talent.
It's either this or tear my hair out Hunter. Hope you are doing okay out there x
Doing OK here. Busy with some new contracts I just took on. Happy to be getting COVID vaccine #2 tomorrow. Have some wonky numbers on CMP that look like possible kidney issues. Feel fine, but following just to be sure. Can't see the nephrologist I want to see until May 6, so will wait until then.
Very happy to be able to get outside and down by the river. I am so looking forward to Spring. Time for bonfires at my cabin!
Cant wait to see the finished product!
He's so lovely! And a drying rack -- wow, that's a real treat. Let us see when he's all done and I hope you keep enjoying the painting! Kim
Lovin your work Jill, , the nearest I get is watching Graysons Art Club which is on soon , , I'm not into all the abstract stuff though it goes way above my head. Painting by numbers I might manage 😃. Chris x
Oh, This is really great! I am drawn to those eyes and face... I guess this is your dog? I am learning to paint. Nowhere near as good as you are. I started with oils a few months ago and love them.
Hi Faith, thank you for the lovely compliment. It’s not my dog, I have two very boisterous Westies. I get the photos off the internet (please make sure they are free stock photos and not copyrighted). Mum nagged and nagged me to do something with my art so when lockdown started I got the beautiful art box that my husband bought me many years ago out of the cupboard and decided to teach myself to paint. Fortunately my mum saw two of my paintings before she passed away last April from Covid. Now I am painting what is closest to my heart, dogs. When I have enough paintings I want to set up a web page to sell them to raise money for MacMillan. It’s like an assembly line at the moment. While one dries I go on to another then go back to them to tweak the final details. I was using acrylics, which I love as well but there is something about the smell and feel of oil paints that makes you feel you are finally getting there. Would love to see your work. Keep it up, it will all come together with practice xx
Good on you! They are superb, esp as you just started. Maybe i will share some later... i joined a group and we hired a gallery in a cafe. I sold 3 that way.
Well done! So obviously you must be very good. I get anxious and think they are not good enough to sell even though I get lovely feedback. I am hoping to do enough paintings to set up some tables outside the MacMillan Centre at our local hospital when the world has calmed down a little. I had an email last night from a friend asking if I could paint a greeting card with the persons dog on it. Now that would be a small painting.
