I have ET JAC 2 positive and had a blood clot in my lung in 2018, since then on Apixaban. First 5mg twice a day for 6 months then 2 and a half mg twice a day. I then had to go for a little procedure under anaesthetic at a different hospital last year and after a few tests they decided that I should be on 5mg twice a day but when I last saw the haematologist she said she can’t see any reason why they did that and I should be back in 2and a half mg twice a day, I am confused

Perhaps some of the doctors were more confused than you. This is why it is so important for a MPN Specialist to weigh in on decisions regarding your medications. Most docs are not familiar with MPNs and what our specific needs are. We are each unique in how our MPN presents. We each need and individualized plan and response to medical events like a surgery.
I hope it is all sorted out now.

Hi Murdoch01, perhaps you could ask your haematologist to ask the other team why they made that decision, it might clarify the situation for you both. Best wishes, Maz
