Hi folks
Quick question; has anyone had vaccine on weekly interferon injections? If so does it present issues? Apparently people are being asked if they’ve had any injections in the last seven days.
Thanks
Pete

I had the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine last Sunday, just 4 days after my interferon injection. The nurse did ask me about injections in the past 7 days and went off to check with the GP. I was told that I was fine to have the Covid jab but to be aware that due to my compromised immunity the vaccine may be less effective. I had the vaccine and other than a sore arm at the injection site which lasted 3-4 days I have not had any other side effects. I hope that they will continue to look at vaccine efficacy for people with compromised immunity and tweak the vaccine if possible to make it comparable with non immune suppressed population.
Hi I had pfizer yesterday and I am on peg - they asked when I had it and said 5 days ago and said that’s fine and also say due my next jab on Sunday and they said also good to just gave this again. I’ve got a sore arm and body aches but apart from that ok and glad it’s the weekend to recover! Have you had your invite letter through?
I inject 180 mcg of Pegasys every 10 days. I had the Moderna in Florida on day 9. No one asked about injections and I had no problems. Yesterday was day 10. The Pegasys injection went fine. I hypothesize that my body is adapted to waves of interferon-alpha from Pegasys injections and so, other than a sore arm, I didn't notice anything unusual. Who knows?
Hi... I had my Covid vaccine today at guys hospital.... my haematology nurse had already told me before I booked it that it was fine for me to have my interferon on Monday coming.
Thanks for your replies. Doesn’t seem like an issue then. I just wish I knew when I’ll get it - my consultant doesn’t seem to think I’m at any higher risk than any other healthy 50 year old, despite the PV. Either MPNs are high risk or not surely? Seems like a bit of a lottery at the moment,
I had my Covid jab yesterday and was due my monthly Pegasys injection today but I’m going to delay it a few days till I’m over any possible side effects from the Covid jab - so far just some soreness in the upper arm around the injection site 🤞
