Vaccine and histamine intolerance

Morning,

Does anyone have histamine intolerance? ( you would know if you have )

I’m a little concerned about the Oxford vaccine as it contains lhistidine which is a precursor to histamine - more of which I don’t need!

Trying to get more info from AstraZeneca is a nightmare ifyou don’t happen to be a medic.

I've just watched a video, steve (socrates) posted earlier, that should answer your question. Also, always remember to let them know of any allegies you suffer from. Tina.🤗

Ah found it. It refers to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines but doesn’t mention the Oxford vaccine. I find it extraordinary that vaccines weren’t tested on immunosuppressed patients. Obviously healthy folk are going to fare better than those of us who are immunosuppressed. I intend to have this vaccine anyway, but am very very wary about taking advice form medics because of course they want us all to be vaccinated.

Hi LoubprvI have been having histamine intolerance since the beginning of November last year, tried several anti histamine medications and am now on an exclusion diet (partial as I have also to watch my low weight)

Had the AstraZenica vaccination last Saturday and had no problems, however from Sunday lunchtime my hives, rash and itches were particularly bad, also on the Monday, but I cannot be sure what set it off.

Sorry if this is not very helpful.

Take care

Hi Nellin thanks. HIT is an absolute pain - far far worse than polycythemia!I m going to have to risk the vaccine I think. The alternative is worse.I ll have to overdose on antihistamines. Let me know how you get on.

I haven’t come across anyone else with histamine intolerance.

Mine is quite severe.

You will probably find this website useful.

It’s been my bible.

The Swiss are so much more on the ball than medics in this country.

Look at the food compatability list it’s incredible. Lists everything from meats spices and veg and everything in between. We can eat egg yolks but not egg whites for instance. Almonds and macadamia nuts but not most other nuts. Do look it will really help you. If you have mast cell activation it will help too. Louise x

Thanks Louise, that is very helpful, I will study the lists carefully. I have been a vegetarian for over 45 years and always been interested in food and nutrition. I try to listen to my body most of all, ageing gracefully , of course, however it is less tolerant of more foods.Take care
