hi Becca, ask your GP what you can take, they should be able to either prescribe something or advise you on what over the counter remedies you can use. Best wishes, Maz
Hope you find something soon , meanwhile what about nettle tea. It might soothe you- if I’ve been feeling jaded through a drink or two too much nettle tea helps. Just maybe it will offer you something.
Hi, I am not making any recommendation for any treatment, only telling you my experience. I had IBS-D for years and years until a gastroenterologist recommended to take Phillips Colon Health (an OTC probiotic). In about a month it went away and I have not had that problem for about 4 years now. I am not recommending any treatment, just saying what worked for me. Best to ask your doctor. Best of luck to you.
Ok thank you do you know if honey is a trigger ? My ibs wasn’t to bad for couple days but I had few spoons honey and Gavin’s on yesterday as I have a cough and today I living on toilet again?
Hi Becca, I had ibs-d (6-8 times per day). I have not had that for at least 4 years. I did not do anything different other than the Phillips colon health. I just assume that is what helped me. I am not recommending anything just telling you what my experience was with it. I had about every test there was before being told I had ibs. My doc said ibs is a diagnosis of exclusion after everything else is ruled out. Please do what your doc recommends. Good luck to you.
Hi ok thank you they have given me constella medication but I believe this is for ibs-c so I don’t want take that as I would be going to the toilet more then
Becca8, these assembled links and two to copy and search on will offer possible solutions for your condition. Thiamine, like vitamin D, needs magnesium to activate it. Search on "krispin magnesium" for helpful information on that critical element. . Selenium is also helpful forIBS as well as MPN's and is found in Brazil nuts. If you have a dog search on" Canine Brazil Nuts Cancer" for selenium's benefits for your pet. It is helpful to maintain a log of foods and beverages consumed and subsequent reactions. You should also research digestive enzymes. Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.
I am sure you would have started with a small amount of Kefir and increased it gradually. Home made Kefir is best and by far the cheapest. We have 150mls of Kefir at breakfast instead of sugar laden orange juice. I stir in a little bit of turmeric too.
Flatus here too, perhaps it is partly the broccoli and cabbage, and other colourful veg and fruit, but no pains, diarrhoea or constipation now.
