Hello friends, I am 48 and diagnosed as Et. My hematologist has done bone marrow aspiration . My platelet is increased from 630,000 before a year and turns now to 939,000. My doctor has ordered me to do JAK &CALR test (both say not detected). what does it mean when it says not detected. Does it mean I am not an ET case?? Can any one explain this to me ?

When you get diagnosed with one of the 3 mpns you can have certain mutations that can affect the way your disease progresses the bone marrow showed you didn’t have the mutations you will still have et but it wasn’t caused by jak 2 or calr he will probably do more tests but not having mutations is a good thing hope this helps
