This Video presentation takes another step by helping to consolidate why doing so might prove beneficial, however, it also goes a tad further into some other aspects that might prove equally as useful for some MPNers. Remembering of course, that we are all different and what works for some might not for others etc...
Importantly, Dr Scherber generally provides a Reference to a study at the bottom of the various slides that she presents for those who would like to delve more deeply into the subject matter.
For me, the take-home message here should be that anything that helps and assists MPNers to live w/ their condition by enjoying greater longevity and a better overall Quality of Life (QoL), is a most welcome addition...
I certainly endorse the value of good diet and exercise. We have to do everything we can to improve our overall health and reduce inflammation.
Glad to see the inclusion of mindfulness in the presentation. It is incredibly important. The mind-body connection is quite powerful. This pertains in many ways, including dealing with inflammation. Mindfulness reduces stress/anxiety/depression. Stress/anxiety/depression all increase inflammation by overreaction of the vagus nerve. There is also an increase in cortisol, catecholamines and cytokines. This is a viscous feedback loop that can be quite destructive. Finding a way to achieve a state of mindfulness is very important for all of us.
Note: I use Qigong and prayer.
Thanks for the information. As always - a great resource,
Yes, it's all very much in sync' w/ the previous direction, where the virtues of a 'Plant-based' diet are adopted, for all the same reasons really, and yes... 'Mindfullness' is something that can aid us all I am sure... Even always trying to be present in the moment, is a form of 'Mindfullness' in my view...
Excellent documentary have got a weeks meat/fish/eggs left then am going plant based until my mid Sept blood tests will be interesting to see how I feel and whether it has made a difference for me
Yes, me too... I mean this has to be worth a really good try because if it does work, well... NO toxic Med's required, and hopefully... there might be many other benefits too...
