Evening all.. :D

Well I am sure that most of you already realise how much I enjoy bringing this sort of a Post to you all...

Since I took up my cycling regime, generally and overall... I am slowly continuing to grow ever stronger...

Yes, I do still have a variety of aches & pains and sypmtoms, however, because of my generally healthier state, even my state of mind keeps going from strength to strength too...

So for me then, whilst this Post might be a revelation to some / many... Not to me... I believe that making myself stronger has a definite holistic healing effect, and it's almost addictive too... I love the buzz I am deriving out of my exercise but so much more... I am just enjoying 'Life to the Max'

Hope you guys find the Post of interest too...

Stay safe

Steve

I agree entirely I walk daily and do 40 min/yoga or pilates daily and I am sure keeping fit has helped me keep my MPN under control

Hi Steve, thank you sharing this positive, encouraging and helpful post. Can I ask how long it took you to get fit.?

Thank you 😊

Hey... :-)

Yes, as I mentioned above... It's not so much about how long it takes ...

Nor is it about how fast or far that I am able to cycle...

Creating any level of consistency w/ exercise in any capacity should aid anyone's sense of general well-being...

For instance, I have just completed a short-course Pt.1 in bicycle maintenance, and between that, my anaemia, and missing almost two weeks of cycling, it was almost like starting all over again, for me... Would have been much worse too had I not managed to keep doing my daily exercise aerobic warm-ups...

I can cycle large km every week, but unless I maintain my consistency the task always becomes much harder and then I must slowly rebuild to some extent, weather may play a factor. Hence, it's useful to always have a 'PLAN-B' for exercising when its inclement... ;-)

Stay safe & well guys...

Steve

PS. I am not as fit as I would like, but it's about the journey too... 8-D

Thank you, you inspire to try jogging again after stopping for a few months.

Hey... :-)

Absolutely my pleasure...

Just remember, start small and take it slow to get started... It gets easier as one becomes more consistent...

There's no pressure, no stress... just doing whatever one feels comfortable doing etc... Cruise... 8-D

Best

Steve

I totally agree with you. I am 80 years old and diagnosed with ET 4 years ago. My first thoughts were would it affect my cycling and walking. No definately not in fact because I am fit I believe it has helped me through many of the symptoms and side effects of HU.

Hey Heather... :-)

Thank you so much for sharing that wonderful piece of information...

I have no doubt in my own mind that I will linger longer because I try to maintain my exercise consistency, my anti-inflammatory diet, and some intermittent fasting...

I truly hope to be emulating you and your feats when I reach 80 too... (61yo)

Very best wishes, stay safe & well... and keep spinning those wheels Heather... ;-)
