Hi MarPapa,

Im on an autoimmune diet for 2.5 years now with great success. I have cleansed my body from the inside out and in January for my last amalgams removed! I have heard on this forum that Curcuma has managed to stabilize the platelets of some of us, at least one could not tolerate it. I started 3 weeks ago and will be having a blood test today or tomorrow. We’ll see. What I have understood is that with all natural treatments, they work over a long period of time. I think there is nothing to lose by taking it, unless one is intolerant. I believe that is not so often. It is really a fabulous antioxidant and antiinflammatory, but be careful! It also thins the blood a bit.

Cheers,

Anag

I took it for my ET. I had to stop under the advice of my heamo. due to large bruises. Lots of people find it helpful.

I would say try it but not without talking to your heamo. Good luck

The bruises should never happen! I’ve read so many times on this forum that patients have bruises and the hemos tell them to continue the aspirin instead of reducing the dosage a bit. Blood that’s too thin can be dangerous in itself.

Since taking the Turmeric/Curcumin, I’ve reduced my aspirin/ginkgo intake and monitored myself carefully. Turmeric thins the blood a bit but so does garlic, which I eat daily. It’s a balance act that Doctors don’t want to deal with. It’s easy to say, take a baby aspirin. it’s a pity to not take something potentially helpful, when there may be adjustments made. 🙂

I’m taking liquid curcumin . And Reishi mushroom powder

. Dr.s havnt been trained in natural medicine so hard for them to give advice . As long as there arnt any interactions I’m happy to try things . ( with support from a reputable practitioner)

So far my platelets are up then down a bit . At moment high but I feel better than I used to and my purple toes are now normal colour and other symptoms better..

That’s fabulous Mostew! So glad you are better!

You’ve great advice above. I did reishi mushrooms, but only for a short time. I do many supplements and don’t want to overdue it! I’ll stick to the turmeric for a half year and see what my blood tests are showing. I did a huge blood test yesterday and an immune reaction test for 95 foods. Results early next week.

If there are no changes, I might try Reishi again. I must say, my hip pain is gone with the turmeric. Truly over night! 😁

Hi I have been taking Curcumin 12000mg C3 complex daily for about 9 months now. I have ET with joint and bone pain. Since taking the Curcumin my aches and pains are so much better. My platelets are well within normal limits even for a non ET patient and they seem stable. I don’t really know if the platelets are due to the hydroxycarbamide or the Curcumin but I do know that after about 6 weeks of taking Curcumin instead of crawling upstairs at night I could walk upstairs. So yes I have personally found benefits from taking it and have subscribed to having a supply sent to me every 3 months.

I have been taking CurcuWin for about 3+ years now. It does not really seem to affect hematopoiesis, but it does wonders for inflammation related symptoms. I have not needed nor taken and NSAIDs for osteoarthritis or plantar fasciitis since starting on the supplement. Most of my docs really know little about complimentary health approaches, so I go to see an Integrative Medicine specialist. It is important to consider that if something is biologically active enough to help you, it can also hurt you. Most anti-inflammatory agents seem to have at least mild blood thinning qualities and can potentiate the effects of aspirin or other blood thinners.

So I would say to go for it with the Curcuma. Very low risk with some real potential benefits for some the symptoms you may be experiencing.

Thanks Hunter. All good advice.

My hip pains are truly gone with the turmeric. I’ve reduced my blood thinners a tad. I have a tendency to get little broken veins in the palms of my hands and inside of fingers when I do strong work with my hands. That’s always a sign the my blood is too thin. I also test myself once in a while by being a little brutal with my floss. I know what my blood is doing by the bleeding (the stops fast? Doesn’t stop? method ). 😉
