Thank you Hanna who sent me this reply.
Make sure you copy the link and go onto the letters sent out to the G.P.s. It's there in black and white who is bloody responsible.
I award Hanna from NHS England a sainthood!!!!!
Thank you for your enquiry of 7 April to Public Health England (PHE) regarding shielding and protecting extremely vulnerable patients. I am sorry to read you are going through such a difficult time.
Most people that are within the highest clinical risk group have already received a letter through the post. However there is a continuing process in place for identifying additional people who meet the clinical criteria but have not been identified through the initial central process. People identified through this process will receive a letter shortly. This list is also being reviewed by GPs and hospital clinicians who we advise you to discuss your concerns with.
You can also register online to confirm you are vulnerable and to confirm whether or not you need support. If you are unable to order food online via a supermarket website or you need help with deliveries of medication, we would advise you to contact your local authority for support. You can find contact details for your local authority by following the link below:
I appreciate it must be frustrating being passed from your GP to the PHE and back again. However, the correct guidance is to contact your GP or hospital clinician in this instance.
The link provided below contains NHS guidance and FAQs for both GPs and patients surrounding the high risk category and shielding letters. As you will see from this link, letters were sent to GPs on 3 April explaining their roles in this process.

I hope that this response has answered your question and, at this challenging time, has offered you some reassurance. As this is a rapidly changing situation we advise you to keep looking at GOV.UK and the PHE blog for the latest guidance and information
I wish you all the best.
Yours sincerely,
Hannah
