Just a big thank you to Maz, Nona and Dr Francis for organising the Sheffield Forum yesterday. The speakers were excellent, covering all aspects of MPNs, including diagnosis, treatments and the dreaded fatigue. There was an interesting talk on the developing treatment with methotrexate (MOMBAT trial) and the introduction of telephone clinics. Especially good were the patient stories. In our breakout group we shared tips and experiences and carried on discussing anti-inflammatory diets in the lift and after the meeting ended! Just wish I had shared contact details - perhaps we will meet again at a future forum! Thank you to all. Pauline
Thank you: Just a big thank you to Maz, Nona and... - MPN Voice
Thank you
Yes, I completely agree. The forum was very well organised, well balanced in terms of content and great venue and sandwich lunch. I think it is a model for this kind of thing in the NHS. I wonder if the same type of thing is organised for other conditions?
Hi Pauline: can you give me a bit more info about the MOMBAT trial, and Dr Francis? Methotrexate might be option for me to reduce the rux dosage. Are there any publications yet? Sounds like a great forum at Sheffield.
Rachel
Hi Pauline and PVPVPV, thank you both for your lovely comments, it was a great forum, and the speakers were excellent. Best wishes, Maz
Just to add my thanks too. It was a very informative day. I really appreciate the way the consultants give their time -not just to be there, but preparing their presentations eg. the presentation on fatigue. Also so good to talk to folks with the same condition and yes, I had a discussion on an anti-inflammatory diet -but it wasn't in the lift so must have been a different discussion! Thanks so much Maz, Nona and Andrew for making it happen.
