Elevated basophils anyone?

Hi there,

I have ET Jak2+. Has anyone had elevated basophils in their blood count? Mine absolute count is 1.15 (0.01-0.08) in the latest blood work. I have this sometimes in my blood work and not sure what to think, I asked doctors but they did not say anything meaningful.

The result and the reference range seem odd to me. My count is .18 with a reference range of 0.0 to 0.2. They went higher than this when I went off of hydroxyurea and gradually returned to normal as I settled in on Pegasys. Usually the units used by one lab vs another lab differ by the placement of the decimal point.

Thank you for your comment. Yup, this depends on lab I think...Do you remember how much higher than normal range?

My basophils peaked at 0.5 with a reference range of 0.0 to 0.2.

I also always have high basophils. My specialist doesn’t seem worried
