Short story- I have been on Gabapentin for a few years I have been off it for about a week. I started bruising very easily so went to have my blood checked. My resting heart rate was 127 and my platelets count was 7 out of 150-400.
The doctors are now checking me for everything (HIV, Leukemia, ITP and so on) and started me on Dexamethasone and Propranolol.
Has anyone had or know of this happening? If so any information would be great. I have to do follow up labs in 2 days and next week.

I have JAK2+ PV along with a host of inflammatory conditions likely related to the JAK2 mutation induced increase in inflammatory conditions. In April 2018 - I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial tachycardia. Resting BP could be as high as 156. Could not tolerate the Diltiazem they put me on, so in short order elected to have surgery for the tachycardia. The catheter ablation was successful - no more atrial tachycardia.
Sometimes we have unrelated medical issues. I am not aware of any link between PV and atrial tachycardia. I do have an extensive family history of arrhythmias, however. I suspect that the chronic systemic inflammation I experience does my heart no favors. It may contribute to the ongoing occasional mild sinus tachycardia (resting BP=105) I sometimes still experience. The docs are not particularly worried about this, so I Approved for detecting tachycardia and apretty much just ignore it. I am at increased risk for developing Atrial Fibrillation at some point in the future, so I do monitor and work with the cardiologist regarding my care.
If your doc did not already suggest this, my doc had me get a Kardia device. It connects with a smart phone and takes a 1-lead ECG. It is approved for detecting tachycardia and A-Fib. I believe the new Apple watch can do the same. It helps to create a base of helpful data.
