Hct levels

Been steady for a few months, the target set by my consultant is 0.450. Last week, saw a locum and my hct was 0.451, so no change to meds (hydro and Interferon) but a venesection required. Damn that 0.001.

Hello shiftzz - ‘steady’ as I frequently tell myself is all good! - hopefully that 0.001 will get beaten back at your next ‘jabbing’ session. Best wishes Anne-Marie x

It really depends on the level your doctor has set. Mine is at 45 because I asked for that level. Above that level the risk for heart attack goes up, so I opted for the lower level. But that comes with a trade-off of lower iron levels and anemia. It is a balancing game. Good luck!
