HCT monitor

I recently purchased a monitor on eBay which measures HCT as well as blood sugar levels. Tested it on my last hospital visit against the lab test they took. The lab came back 43.5 and the monitor was 44. The only problem is getting blood out for the test strip isn't easy for me which is why I could only use it once the nurse had taken blood. The monitor costs under £20 so it may be a way to monitor your level.

I would be very interested in this. Can you tell me what you mean by you had a problem getting blood for the test strip. Is it a finger blood prick test. Being diabetic and needing regular venesections this would be a very handy thing to have. Thanks

It's a finger prick and I just couldn't get enough blood out. Probably just me.

Thanks for posting about this, I may look into getting one myself. Although I don't want to get too obsessed with monitoring!

Since my monitoring would just be HCT (although a note of the blood sugar level would not go amiss) I was intending once a week at the most.
