Good Morning , I fly out to visit my son in New Zealand every other year.stopping over in Dubai, Australia, then onto NZ. Once or twice I have been asked what are these drugs for and I have just said 'I have Cancer ' and these are the med's I have to take every day. I have never had any trouble the guards, they just say ok and pass me on. Label all, keep in a separate container,it is very important to take along an extra prescription from your doctor to verify what the drugs are for. Hope this helps and you get by. Bordeauxgirl.

Thanks. I used to travel a lot in my job prior to being diagnosed. I used to carry my blood pressure medication in my hand luggage with no problem. It’s the Hydroxycarbamide I am not to sure about.

I am on Hydroxy too with no problem just make sure you label , also remember to include the information leaflet that comes in the package.and do not let the tablets be touched by the guards.

Hi, you could ask your consultant or specialist nurse to write you a letter detailing your medication and why you take it. Maz

I always take my meds in my hand luggage, I don’t want to risk it getting lost in my suitcase. I also have a letter from my specialist nurse stating what I take and my condition. I have never been stopped and asked what they are.

I have also taken my meds (hydroxy and clopidogrel) on flights from Canada to Mexico and no problem. I take them in my carry-on bag so that I make sure they get to where I’m going!

I’m in Paris at present and had to take Clexane injections with me to use pre-flights. No problem at all getting it through security. I had s letter from my doc, but they never asked for it.

Hi, yes I keep all my pills with me, always keep them in the boxes. Never been a problem. 😊

I carried my Pegasys in my hand luggage going to Turkey this summer. I had a letter from my haematologist just in case but they didn’t even question it. You shouldn’t have any problems 🙂

Always. every trip from UK to France. I put it in the Brio wallet, in the plastic bag with my liquids and never been questioned. ATB

Hello I have taken my Hydroxycarbamide in my hand luggage on my flight to Florida with no problems. Never been asked about them. I do take a recent letter from my consultant regarding my condition just in case. Hope this helps.

I’ve taken enough to take for the flight duration and keep the rest in my checked in luggage. Not had any problem.

I never put any meds in my checked luggage if I can avoid it. If your bag is lost it can be very difficult. Especially outside your own country. Ideally they recommend having meds in their original bottles. I also carry vials of liquid meds for my immune deficiency & an epi-pen. Although I take written scripts, I’ve never had to show them yet. Good luck.
