Evening all from a beautiful sunny day in Sydney... :-)

As a follow up to a previous message concerning the benefits of FASTING, this article points to what may well soon develop as the next FAD style diets, based upon its success thus far...

Below is the SUMMARY, however, the link to the Full Text is also placed below that content for your convenience, hoping that you might find it as interesting as did I... :-)

Thank you Steve, I have not yet had the courage to attempt intermittent fasting.... (such a piggie with my food).....although I have read all the benefits from doing so. Will read the article you enclosed , to try to motivate my self.

Hope all is as good as it can be with you.

Regards Sandy.

Im a 3-Day fasting Fan. Many do interim fasting and the body has time to digest and reset itself daily. On a 3 day fast I drink only water. Since I eat almost no carbs and my fuel is good fats and oils, I don’t get hungry at all! My body just burns my fat. At the same time, a faster‘s System changes mode and on the third day starts autophagy. Old cells are trimmed by the body (like a storm in the forest trims the old weak branches) and a renewal happens. Very healthy. One should avoid exertion on these days. Apparently, best is to do a 5 day fast. I never tried that.

Cheers, Socrates, Anag

Hey Anag... :-)

Yes, you have nailed it!

Three (3) fasts for me, are an excellent way to commence, however, because of the energy requirements of my cycling regime I must also find ways to balance it all out...

That's why now, I simply stick w/ the Intermittent Fasting regime of nothing after dinner until dinner again the next day. In between, black tea, green tea, mineral water and the odd black coffee... (weaning myself off that though too... :-)

It is really important to have the required energy levels in order to maintain one's muscle mass... otherwise one risks losing it and then rapid ageing might onset & lay havoc in one's twilight times... ?

Best wishes ;-)

Exactly! By the way. I’m down 18kg in 22 months. I never thought I would loose all that after 15 years and so many attempts, ever. That 40lbs!! I don’t try ore diet, I eat my Paleo diet and whenever my body is ready, it just let’s go of 1-2 kg every 2-3 months.

I’m so impressed that your doing high powered sport and I understand the discipline, understanding and connection one has to every little detail of their body and how it works on a minute level. To have such an illness, stressing, but never over-stressing the body, is critical. 😁

Hey Anag... :-)

That is an awesome achievement. Really well done, and I bet that you are feeling much better all round because of it too...

Yes, I have had to learn the hard way about 'Over-stressing' myself by not really understanding my own capacities... It is very much a 'work-in-progress' really... ;-)

Best wishes
