Results of my Bone Marrow Biopsy/Aspiration came back confirming thrombocytosis (mildly elevated platelets) and iron deficiency. I’m scheduled for. (2) Iron infusions 1-week apart, CBC will be taken each time, mid July scheduled for CBC blood work and go back to HM 8/1 depending on outcome of blood work, I may need another BMB.

BMB was terribly painful, I’m confused why BMB was necessary when blood work already confirmed all of this... blood work confirmed no trace Jak2.

My symptoms are: fatigue, headaches, arm bone pain

I guess it’s a waiting game😞

Hi Not sure why you'd need another BMB, as these days you can get genetics and so on from a blood sample. As I understand it, BMB gets used only to exclude or confirm the presence of fibrosis and its degree, and thus exclude or confirm myelofibrosis. If you Google - "How to diagnose myeloproliferative neoplasms", that'll tell you what the process ought to be. The NCCN guidelines are once source.
