Well after doing well on 500mg of HU.ive had a bit of a bump today my platelets have risen slightly from 1089 to 1112.. still lower than they where in February 1689. So my consultant has increased my dose slightly from 1 tablet t times a week and 2 tablets on 2 days. Just a slight change but it's part of this journey. I've been feeling ok as well.no side effects. Eating well losing weight.as well. Fingers crossed for the next 4xweeks .
It's so easy to get disheartened so I indulged in a lemon drizzle cake after picking up.my meds. Feeling more optimistic now!!

That is not that big of a change. Lots of things can effect you platelet levels. Anything that causes bleeding, tissue damage or inflammation can trigger reactive thrombocytosis. It is actually our bodies normal response to damage - just not so good when out platelet levels are already too high. regarding the lemon drizzle - I believe a good piece of cake is a widely recognized and highly effective anxiolytic. Contra-indicted for weight loss - but heck - some side effects are just flat out worth it!
